In Naples a hardscape contractor usually means a paver crew that installs what someone else drew, or sells a pattern from a catalog. Knaak Design Group is a design-build firm led by a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA #6666903), a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects with CLARB certification, and the practice also holds a Certified Building Contractor license (CBC #1256813). The terrace, driveway or wall is drawn to the architecture, the grade and the drainage first, then installed by the same team, joint by joint and by hand. Our published planning ranges start at $25,000 to $75,000 for a single focused addition, run $30,000 to $150,000 for the renovation of an existing pool and its surround, $150,000 to $300,000 for a new pool with its deck, hardscape, landscape and lighting, and $250,000 to $500,000 and above when the whole property is reworked. Quantity is only one part of the cost. How do you install pavers in Naples, Florida?
For most patios, pool decks, and outdoor living spaces in Naples, we recommend installing pavers over a reinforced, 4-inch concrete slab. This creates a stable, long-lasting foundation that helps prevent settlement, reduces weed and ant intrusion, and properly supports heavy structures such as pergolas and outdoor kitchens. After the concrete cures, we apply a waterproofing and crack-suppression membrane before installing the pavers in a dry-pack mortar bed. Natural stone pavers can often be installed with tight, butt-jointed seams for a clean, grout-free appearance. Porcelain pavers are installed similarly to an interior tile floor, with consistent grout joints for proper alignment and durability. Sand-set installation is also available, but we generally reserve this method for driveways and select smaller hardscape projects. Our installation method is determined by the paver material, site conditions, drainage requirements, and the intended use of the space.

Every joint, every cut, every transition is set by hand on a Knaak project. Machine-set is faster and cheaper but you can see it ten years later. We do not work that way.
How long does a hardscape project take?

Do you install hardscape and landscape together?
That is the whole point of how we work. Paving, walls, grade, planting, lighting and irrigation are drawn as one composition, so the stone meets the beds cleanly and the drainage is solved once rather than twice. Hardscape installed in isolation is where most Naples projects go wrong.

We do not install someone else's drawings and we do not hand ours to a separate paver company.
Can you remodel or extend an existing patio or pool deck?

Our warranty.
Knaak warrants all construction work to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year from substantial completion. If a defect appears within that year, we remedy it at no cost to you, provided the terms of your agreement have been met.
Plant material is warranted as follows: one year on trees, palms, shrubs, and ground cover; six months on perennial flowers; and thirty days on sod. Annual flowers, roses, container plantings, and existing plants relocated on site are not warranted. Warranty does not extend to damage from circumstances beyond our control, such as freezing, drought, pests, fire, wind, flood, vandalism, or governmental water-use restrictions.
Assemblies, accessories, and installed equipment carry their manufacturer's warranty, which we assign to you. We compact surface and sub-base density to meet or exceed specification, though we are not responsible for natural settling. Beyond the warranties stated here and in the Standard Pool Amenities Warranty provided with your agreement, no other warranties are expressed or implied.
